Father's Day Weekend

A week late again...I know...

Father's Day weekend was spent in Omaha this year. Jim requested that we go and we had a great time visiting with all of our family. We drove in on Friday night and hung out letting Charlotte get to visit with her Papa.

Saturday we made breakfast and relaxed. Then we headed out to go shopping to try to find Charlotte a two month birthday present. We couldn't find anything that fit the bill. We wanted an age appropriate toy, hopefully something she could kick because that is what she loves to do right now but we couldn't find what we were looking for. We evntually found something which I will talk about in another post.

We headed back to my Dad's house, fed Charlotte, and then went to meet my Mom and Frank for dinner. We had some great mexican food at Netties, I absolutely love that place! We went back to my Mom's place and played and hung out with the girl. My Mom snapped this picture of us and it is very cute even though Jim is pretending to get me with Jayke's knocker toy.
We had planned to go to the Carter Lake Day's fireworks but we went down there and it was just to buggy and ocky to stay so we headed out.

Sunday was Jim's first Father's Day! Jim is such an awesome Dad to Charlotte and so great with everything there is to do although I know I don't appreciate everyhing he does enough and I certainly don't tell him as often as I should how much I truly appreciate him. It has been such a neat thing to watch them bond. Seeing her recognize him and break into one of her cute smiles is really priceless. Although we had gotten him the grill we had a small gift for him that day. We got him a gift certificate to buy some good meat to grill without me complaining about the price. We took my Dad and Deb to breakfast at Cracker Barrell. We had a great time visiting and getting to spend some time together. Sunday afternoon we went to see Chelsea's new place and Charlotte got to hang out with her cousin Leighton. Both of them pretty much napped. Chelsea's place was really nice. Very open and great for her and the boys. Here is a cute picture of our little Charley girl playing before Sunday Dinner.Sunday evening ended with Family dinner at my Dad's. It was great to see everyone all together and to let everyone see Charlotte since she is so stinking cute!!! She was playing and hanging out. Eventually she fell asleep in her Uncle Jesse's arms and was content there for most of dinner.

Of course before we left we got our 9 week old family picture.

2 Month Appointment

Charlotte had her 2 month appointment on Monday and she is doing absolutley great. She weighed in at 12 lbs 4 oz which was in the 55th percentile for weight. She was 23 inches long which made her in the 50th percentile for length. Her head circumfrence, on the other hand, was in the 65th percentile!

She got her two month shots and that went fantastically. She screamed at first (for Jim since I was too chicken) but calmed down soon after. We took tylenol with us just in case but she did great the rest of the day and night. I was so proud of her.

Charlotte's 2 Month Pictures

My Favorite Face

I know this picture is at an awkward angle but I was so glad to finally get a picture of her sad face because it is my absolute favorite face she makes. How cutely pathetic!

The Weekend

This past weekend my Mom came down to visit to give me my birthday gift. She made a package of certificates treating me to a movie, lunch and an outfit, what a great gift! When she got here on Friday night we visited for awhile, I fed Charlotte and we decided to head to a late movie. We saw The Hangover and it was very funny...raunchy but funny.

On Saturday before we went shopping my Mom got these adorable pictures of Charlotte. I love it when she smiles big, what a cutie! She also got one of Charlotte and I together. She is getting so big! Look how much more she fills out her seat!Jim is tickling her before we leave and apparently she likes it! We went shopping and found some good deals. I got some picture frames for our desks at work now that we have tons of cute pictures to fill them with. I also got Charlotte a couple of things but didn't find anything for myself right away. We planned to go eat luch but time ran short so we grabbed some Tasty Taco's and took them home for us and Jim. We ate and then headed to church. Unfortunatly the air conditioning wasn't working and it was smoking hot. Charlotte got uncomfortable and eventually we just had to leave.

We got home and then my Mom and I headed out again to try to find me an outfit. This time we succeeded and I walked away with something very cute. My Mom came back and hung out with Charlotte for a bit before heading home.
Sunday was a big day for Jim and I. We had decided to go to his company picnic at Adventureland. We had asked his sister to sit so that we could commit ourselves to our first day without the little one. We both went into Saturday night and Sunday morning feeling more obligated to go than excited.
.
Barb arrived Sunday morning, we finished feeding Charlotte and headed out. Needless to say we had a great time! Jim convinced me to ride a bunch of rides that I normally wouldn't (I am a scaredy cat). We got a great picture of us coming down the log ride. We actually bought it as a great memory of the day.
.
When we came home we changed into dry, non-smelly clothes and had Barb take our 8 week family picture. Thank you Barb so much for watching Charlotte. It was great for Jim and I and i am sure she loved it to. What a quick 8 weeks this has been!

Father's Day Gift

Well Jim got his Father's Day Present early. After debating, Charlotte and I decided to get him a new grill given that our old one bit the dust as you can see. In fact, we submitted these pictures to an ugliest grill contest for dad's, but they don't announce the winner until Father's Day and we just couldn't wait that long, what is summer without grilling?!?
So, here is the new grill. Charlotte did her research and made sure to get Dad a good one.She is such a show off, look at her Vanna White this baby! And incidentally, since we got it on Sunday, June 7th (yes I am a bit behind posting) it was also time for a picture of our 7 week old family...and she's not screaming!

So, Happy Father's Day Jim! Charlotte loves you and so do I, you're a wonderful Dad!

The Week in Review

To begin, here is our picture of our 6 week old family last Sunday (May 31st). I am sure one of these days we will get a weekly picture where she isn't crying! Believe it or not, Monday was my first day back at work. I can not believe how quickly those 6 weeks flew by. I only worked half days this week so that I could adjust a little better but it was still hard. Here I am, June 1st, heading back to work. I tried smiling...it sort of worked.
This is Charlotte and I on my birthday this past Wednesday, June 3rd. Jim got me diamond earrings, and I got special cards from Charlotte and the pets. Barb came over for dinner and we had some Applebee's carside to go, which is very convenient and far easier than going OUT to eat!
Charlotte always sleeps like this, I think it is too cute. Jim mimicks her a lot sleeping like this, and it is cute too.
Super cute socks one of my co-workers gave us.
Playing on her play mat and hanging out.
We stopped by the doctor's this week to have her skin checked out, turns out she has some baby eczema. We have been lotioning her up with the good stuff and her face is looking MUCH better!
Tummy time showing just how strong she is. Unfortunately the flash just drowns her out but I still like it
Yep, she is awesomely, adorably cute. We did good.
Here she is playing with Jim on Sunday, ready to take off! I just love this picture!!
Tummy time oftens becomes suck whatever is closest to your mouth time, as you can tell from the following pictures.

The week ended and it went well over all. We both handled the half days at day care well. Saturday I shot a wedding and she got to hang out with Jim. Sunday we were together as a family all day, just the way we love it.
